OPED: Remembering Heroism on Veterans Day

OPED: Remembering Heroism on Veterans Day

Paying the Ultimate Price For Freedom

The story of Corporal Jason L. Dunham and his life is a short one, but is also a poignant reminder of the high costs of war. I write this on what would have been his twenty-ninth birthday (November 10). He was born in Scio, New York, a small town of 1,900 people.

The U.S. Celebrates Veteran's Day 2010

Join all of us at MarEx as we salute our nation’s brave veterans for their sacrifice and dedication while protecting America during times of combat, as well as during times of peace. While it may be a day off for some, our men and women in uniform toil in less than ideal situations day and night, in almost all corners of the world, to safeguard our great land and the shores that surround it.

Today may be Veterans Day, but America’s service members, as well as the U.S. Merchant Marines, deserve our respect and admiration each and every day.

Sen. Graham's Opening Statement from Nov. 9, 2010 Hearing
For Immediate Release: Nov. 9, 2010

Today we're going to be focusing on the future, not past. But the future is always influenced by our past experiences and so will we be.

Yesterday we had a very detailed description of the well drilling operations as well as the details of the intercompany decision and how those decisions played out and contributed to the ultimate disaster. There was in the news reports of yesterday’s hearing a statement that I think was stated in too broad a term. The statement was that there was no evidence that there were conscious decisions ...
